Game crackdown - British PM to use study by Dr. Tanya Byron

With all the commotion revolving in-game violence, steps are being made by the British government to ensure gaming quality for their country.

Aside from a legal classification system that will be introduced for rating video games, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown plans to utilize the results of a study being done by Dr. Tanya Brown.

Brown's study will be reporting her findings next month on the impact of video games on children. She also indicated that she will be examining the current classification system for games and see it it causes confusion among the parents.

Currently, 90 percent of games portray weapons, martial arts and even extreme combat, and they are currently  free from the classification in place.

Aside from this reports that will be coming from the study, a cinema-style of classification will be used to categorize video games as part of the British government's efforts to keep children away from unsuitable material.

The Ministers in the United Kingdom hope that the review being done by Brown will be able to put to ease the debates happening over video games.
